The Water Station

NYC / South Carolina
Created by Shogo Ohta
Directed by Steve Pearson

Shogo Ohta’s poetic masterwork performed in silence and extreme slow tempo. After an unseen cataclysmic event, travelers on a road stop for water at a public faucet near a large pile of discarded shoes. P3 brought Mr. Ohta’s play to New York on the days leading up to the anniversary of September 11. The production opened 13 days after hurricane Katrina hit at New York City’s Here Arts Center.
